Description:
Coenzyme Q10 is a small molecule fat-soluble quinone organic compound widely present in animal and plant cells. Its structure is similar to the structure of vitamin K. When used alone or in combination with vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10 is a strong antioxidant. Is required to drive the body's energy production (ATP) cycle. It can promote oxidative phosphorylation reaction and protect the integrity of biofilm structure. Coenzyme Q from different sources has different number of isopentene units in its side chain. Humans and mammals have 10 isopentene units, so it is called coenzyme Q10. Coq plays an important role in proton translocation and electron transport in the respiratory chain in vivo. It is an activator of cell respiration and cell metabolism, an important antioxidant and a non-specific immune booster.
